“Car-to-Table” protocol for our patients is active. When you arrive for your scheduled appointments, we kindly request you call us at 301-620-1414 to inform us that you are here. Our administrative team will come out to the car to check your temperature with a far infrared, no touch thermometer. Any temperature of 100.4 or above will be asked to reschedule your appointment and will not incur a cancellation fee. The administrative team member will confirm room availability and send you directly to the treatment room to avoid congregating in any common area of the office.

“No Stop Lobby” protocol for our patients is active. We have issued procedures to ensure that during Phase I – Return to Care, our patients have no need to stop in the lobby and will only need access if they are passing through from the entryway to a first floor treatment room. Further, we have removed all magazines, tea, etc. from our office to prevent the spreading of germs. If more than one individuals are in the waiting room for any reason, be sure you are practicing social distancing (6-feet)

Hand Hygiene: Hand sanitizer will be located inside the vestibule at the bottom of the stairs in the entryway and on the front desk. Hand washing closets will be available for patients as well as staff. Hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial soap are abundant throughout our office. Surgical or food service gloves will be provided for all staff and patients and must be worn during Phase I – Return to Care. Masks & Gloves: Patients and staff must wear masks and gloves in the office during Phase I of our return to care. Patients may bring their own masks or Disposable masks will be provided free of charge to the patient. Disposable gloves are also provided. Staff that will regularly cross the 6-foot social distancing standard (practitioners) will wear FDA approved KN95 masks for healthcare providers. All other staff will wear personal cloth masks that are washable and re-usable.

Patients and staff shall maintain a minimum of 6-foot distance from patients and colleagues during their time in the office. Phase I – Return to Care, will include a modified scheduling structure to ensure that social distancing can continue to be maintained. Exceptions include the few minutes it takes to perform the treatment itself.

Holistic Health will disinfect tables between treatments. We will disinfect equipment between each patient immediately upon them exiting the room with the approved EPA disinfectant. Staff is to regularly clean the common countertops, door knobs and restrooms.

Our goal is to have as little necessity to change clothing and use drapes as possible. To that end, please wear loose clothing to allow our practitioners to navigate to important acupuncture points as needed. Pants that can easily come above the knee and shirts with large necks are recommended. Shoes and socks will still be removed before your treatment.

Self Screening: If you or someone in your family is currently or has experienced ANY symptoms of illness (including fever, cough, or flu-like symptoms) during the last 14 days before your scheduled appointment, please notify us as soon as possible. We will happily reschedule your appointment to a future date at least two weeks after your latest reported date of being symptom free. You will incur no additional costs or fees due to any rescheduling as a result of your health conditions. Healthcare professional recommendations: If you are advised by a healthcare professional to “self-quarantine” yourself due to recent travel OR potential exposure to COVID-19, OR others who have had potential exposure to the virus, please notify us as soon as possible. We will happily reschedule your appointment to a future date at least one week after the end date of your self-quarantine period. You will incur no additional costs or fees due to any rescheduling as a result of a self-quarantine situation.

Existing patients returning to care will have priority access throughout our process. We are accepting new patients and will care for any family members, friends, co-workers or neighbors who are unable to see their own acupuncturist because of limited availability, we would be happy to see them for any necessary or requested care in our office, subject to appointment availability. We will also happily refer them back to their regular acupuncturist after completion of their requested care. Our purpose here is to serve others who may be in need of care.

Financial Policy Update: All patients will have a credit card on file. Updated financial policy will need to be signed to give HHA permission to use this card on file for any outstanding bills including but not limited to co-pays, deductible balances, herbal supplements, etc. This policy will eliminate time spent in the lobby and allow us to maintain our practice of social distancing (6-ft). www.hhamd.com/credit-card-authorization-form Scheduling Policy Update: All patients will schedule by phone before or after their appointment. Patients are encouraged to set up standing appointments or pre-book their upcoming appointments as a series of sessions.
