Natasha Baihly, M.Ac., studied acupuncture after experiencing personally a profound healing from Chinese medicine. In 1990, while studying abroad in France, she developed a skin disorder that would not go away. After trying several pharmaceuticals and therapies with no change in her condition, Natasha's mother eventually took her to see a doctor of Oriental medicine. Natasha was impressed with the amount of time the practitioner spent gathering information about her symptoms and body functions, as well as the conscious effort put into customizing a treatment. She experienced a full recovery from her skin condition, and this initial experience with holistic healthcare planted the seeds for future interest in acupuncture.

With that experience tucked away in the back of her mind, several years later Natasha traveled to the Peruvian Amazon, where she met an acupuncturist who became a mentor, and where she was introduced to the herbal and spiritual medicine of the indigenous people. Under the care of this acupuncturist, she witnessed people feeling better and taking more control of their health. This convinced her to return and complete a Master's Degree in acupuncture through the Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, MD.

Natasha spends her time outside of the office kayaking, making her way around the Appalachian Mountains, and reading. She enjoys languages and travel. Combining the science and art inherent in Chinese medicine, her particular passion is to open doors for patients to realize the part they play in their own healing process.

David graduated from Dragon Rises College with a Bachelor's in Health Sciences and a Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Contemporary Oriental Medicine.  He holds undergraduate degrees in Journalism and Music Performance from the University of Florida.  David is a nationally board-certified practitioner of acupuncture and herbal medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed by the Maryland Board of Acupuncture and the Florida Board of Acupuncture.  

David’s journey to pursue a career in East Asian medicine is a personal one that bears a passion for the profession. Nearly 20 years ago, as a cancer patient, acupuncture was instrumental in easing the side effects of treatments and guided him through the maze of modern medicine. David is dedicated to combining this experience with the skills obtained in his studies to give all patients the relief that he received. 

This new path led to a hospital-based integrative practice where he was a part of an integrative team approach to patient wellness. David collaborated with doctors and specialists, utilizing the resources of an academic university hospital for the betterment of his patients. In this role, David treated a diverse population and a broad spectrum of health conditions. He also provided care for cancer patients during chemotherapy infusions at the UF Health Davis Cancer Pavilion. 

In concert with his work in an integrative hospital setting, David led a private practice, served as a clinical educator at Dragon Rises College, and continued his studies in an ongoing mentorship. In his role as a clinical educator, David found it rewarding assisting students in discovering the “ah-ha” moments and how East Asian medicine can heal the most complicated diseases. 

David’s advocacy for integrative holistic medicine has brought him before interest and support groups, medical students, and practitioners, promoting the benefits of acupuncture and East Asian medicine.

David is new to the Frederick area and is looking forward to enjoying his newfound home.  He is joined by his partner Kasey, daughter Ava and son Ethan. 

Rebecca grew up in Montgomery County, MD and has called Frederick County her home since 2017.  She has over 20 years of healthcare experience, first entering the field as an EMT in high school.  She then went on to become a combat medic and LPN in the United States Army.  After her service, Rebecca continued to work in the military healthcare field in a variety of specialties, most notably in the traumatic brain injury unit at Walter Reed Military Medical Center Bethesda (formerly known as National Naval Medical Center), where she treated service members with acute and chronic severe mind and bodily injuries from combat.  During that time, Rebecca was part of the stand-up team who implemented the integration of mind/body healing on the TBI unit. 

During her varied military healthcare career, Rebecca was introduced to Acupuncture and worked alongside medical doctors providing acupuncture to wounded service members.  Having witnessed the positive effects of acupuncture, Rebecca went on to gain her Masters then Doctorate degrees in Acupuncture from Maryland University of Integrative Health.  Rebecca continues her studies in the Chinese Herbal program at Maryland University of Integrative Health.

In Rebecca's treatment room, she bridges her western medicine background with eastern medicine practices to include but limited to acupuncture, herbs and cupping.  Rebecca's unwavering compassion for others ensures she will find the right treatment plan for you.

Outside of the treatment room, Rebecca teaches in the biosciences at Maryland University of Integrative Health.  At home, she is the mother to 3 little girls and the wife of an Air Force Major.  

Rebecca joined HHA September of 2021. 

Matthew Beeman L.Ac. is a native of Western Maryland. He obtained his Masters of Science and Oriental Medicine Degree (MSOM) from East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida.

Matthew also holds a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science, giving him an in-depth knowledge to pair with a strong passion to navigate the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal issues. Matthew takes a multi faceted approach to pain management, As well as treating psycho-emotional disorders such as stress and anxiety, digestive disorders, headaches, gynecological issues, and much more.

Each patient presents unique challenges, therefore, Matthew’s holistic approach for each circumstance will incorporate the best of Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. 

Matthew is also certified in Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy, and will be offering these services in conjunction with his acupuncture treatments.

In his free time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and two bulldogs, traveling, playing soccer, and watching all sports.

The human body is an amazing organism has the innate ability to heal itself, but it must be nourished appropriately to establish the balance it needs to start the healing process.  Therapeutic touch is one way in which the body can be brought back to this homeostasis.  Sharon’s passion is in helping you live your better life through the power of massage therapy, activating your body's healing properties and reducing your pain and stress.  

Sharon was born in England and spent half her life in the high stress environment that is corporate America as a financial analyst.  Reaching the point of burn out she sought out a more satisfying career in which she can make a difference in the lives of others.  “I always knew I wanted to help people, I just didn’t know how until I found massage therapy”, she said.  Since graduating Central Maryland School of Massage she has been on a journey to gain homeostasis in her own life through nutrition, mindfulness, and a connection with nature.  Sharon is now proud to call herself a Boonsboro local and absolutely loves “this little slice of paradise.”  In her spare time, you can usually find her barefoot in the garden, absorbing natures energy.

Research supports the health benefits of massage therapy for conditions such as fibromyalgia, muscle tension, migraine and tension headaches, insomnia, and many other modern-day complaints.  Activation of the parasympathetic nervous system makes massage an effective player in stress relief, pain management and injury recovery.  Sharon is honored and excited to share her healing touch with her neighbors in Boonsboro.  She enjoys working closely with her clients to understand individual needs and she customizes every massage session to support every client’s unique wellness journey.  Modalities may include relaxing Swedish strokes, trigger point release, deep tissue, and myofascial release.

After searching for a career could evoke positive change in the lives of others, Hannah discovered her passion for massage therapy and decided to dedicate herself to helping other people.  Hannah graduated from the American Massage and Bodywork Institution in 2021.  There she affirmed her love of anatomy and physiology while also learning about the importance and value of human touch as a tool to help others reduce stress, increase range of motion, and heal from their injuries.

Hannah has a thoughtful, patient approach when working with her clients, encouraging the muscles to gently melt beneath her touch.  She is adept at customizing her massages to the needs of each individual and blends Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques in her sessions.

Hannah was born in Ireland, moving to America at the age of fifteen.  After living in a small rural village for most of her life, Hannah cultivated a deep respect and love for nature.  When she is not practicing massage, Hannah enjoys reading fantasy and science fiction novels, writing short stories and poetry, learning about Irish history and folklore, cuddling with her cat Primrose, as well as baking for her friends and family.  She is excited to learn and grow at Holistic Health Associates.

Norma Jean Hohman has been with the Holistic Health Associates formerly the Boonsboro Wellness Center for over fifteen years greeting patients and serving as Office Manager.  Over time she grew to appreciate the benefits of Foot Reflexology and began taking online courses and apprenticing with Shirley Trostle, a much beloved practitioner who had been practicing reflexology for over forty years.  Shirley retired at the age of ninety, but not before she passed on her skills and experience to Norma Jean. 

Now Norma Jean offers Reflexology treatments two days a week at the center.  More than a foot massage, holistic reflexology can help you with deep relaxation, pain management, easing anxiety, peaceful sleep, better digestion, headache relief, calm mind, improved mood, and balanced energy.  Many acupuncture patients like to supplement their wellness routine with Reflexology as a way of supporting the overall healing process. 

Norma Jean and her husband reside in Needmore, PA, where she enjoys long walks with her dog Toby and spending time with her grandson. 

Michelle Clowe has over 20 years of bodywork, movement, wellness and teaching experience. She is a Qigong Meridian Therapy Practitioner, Medical Qigong Practitioner, Certified Dragon's Way Qigong Instructor, Wu Ming Qigong Breast Health Leader, Certified Healthy Foot Practitioner and a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2000.

Michelle healed herself from long-term Lyme disease through Qigong and her great passion is helping others reconnect with their own healing ability. Michelle has studied and worked with numerous talented teachers over the years and she continues to train extensively under Grand Master Nan Lu, OMD. She is available for appointments in the Boonsboro location on Fridays and Saturdays.

Cindy has a BA degree in English and an AA degree in Digital Media Design, and her career path has included travel and tourism, the arts, marketing, community outreach, education, and graphic design. She has always had a strong interest in wellness, nutrition, and self-care, and has practiced yoga since her early 20s. A longtime HHA client, Cindy feels very fortunate that her journey has led her to her current role at the Boonsboro office, where she joined the team as an Office Manager in June 2022. She is thrilled to work alongside such kind, respectful, and like-minded people, sharing a passion for helping others to live their best lives every day.

Cindy has loved living in Maryland since moving here in 1999 and still proudly calls this special place home. In her spare time, she enjoys weaving, calligraphy, gardening, hiking, kayaking, reading, and especially travel, both near and far. Most weekends, you can find her happily exploring the nooks and crannies of various counties in Maryland. She especially enjoys the natural areas on the Eastern Shore. Cindy is also a very proud mom of two –and is happy to have instilled the love of travel and adventure in both her adult daughter and son!

Sue started at Holistic Health Associates (formerly Boonsboro Wellness Center) as a front desk associate in February of 2017, but grew into the Insurance Coordinator position she currently holds.  She understands the insurance industry can be challenging at times and provides support to patients with care and lots of patience.  Though self-taught, Sue takes pride in helping any patients with their insurance to be sure they are taken care of.   

Sue enjoys spending time with her husband Eddie of 28 years, and their two furbabies, Freckles (a 4yr old Beagle) and Samantha (a 7yr old cat).  She also can be found shopping for or making crafts and spending time outdoors.  

Jeanne Tucker has worked assisting patients at the front desk of the Boonsboro Wellness Center (now Holistic Health Associates) for over nine years. Witnessing individuals begin their acupuncture experience and progress to healing through holistic health care has been very rewarding for her. She is a Reiki Master and has experience in both the individual and group practice of that form of energy work.

Jeanne offers years of experience in customer service, public relations, marketing, and office administration. She has a background in mental health and earned her M.A. in Counseling from West Virginia University. Earlier she received a bachelor’s degree in English and Journalism from James Madison University in Virginia.

Jeanne and her husband live in Shepherdstown, WV. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going on long walks, reading, and travel experiences.

Kathleen has been a long-term resident of Boonsboro, and after teaching almost 30 years and being retired nearly 10, she decided to come to work part-time at Holistic Health Associates.  Kathleen has always realized the need for self-care and has regularly received massages.  Now as an employee of HHA, she has been introduced to the additional services provided, and truly enjoying her self-care.

As a mother of 3 adult children and grandmother to 5 (ranging from 28 years to 7 years), Kathleen enjoys spending her free time with her family, gardening, bowling, reading, traveling, and serving in her church.
