How does Massage work for my health?

Massage Therapy, once considered the ultimate indulgence, is now recognized as a valuable component of preventative healthcare; a useful means of achieving a physical, mental, and spiritual balance. Massage therapy offers a variety of techniques to relieve stress and tension, promoting general good health and wellness. Bodywork has been used successfully for years to manage and treat a variety of chronic health problems including Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Herniated disks, Osteoporosis, Chronic Back, neck pain, and muscle spasms- just to name a few.

Muscle tissue, insertions, tendons and ligaments all benefit from massage therapy. As these components are often the first line effected when the body is in a state of discomfort, remaining limber continues to be of the utmost importance in wellness and prevention.

Types of massage

Deep Tissue Massage

A type of bodywork which releases chronic pain by separating muscle groups and loosening connective tissue. This process is used to achieve realignment of the body and freedom of movement. Using slow strokes that run across the muscles and deep finger pressure, this technique works best on targeted areas rather than the full body.

Myofascial Release Massage

This very gentle, slow, modality breaks adhesions in muscles and connective tissues. It is helpful in increasing range of motion and improving movement, as well as in breaking a chronic pain cycle.

Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy

Correcting various skeletal misalignments is accomplished through the manipulation of soft tissues around the bones.

On-site - Massage for an Event

Seated chair massage at corporate functions, golf tournaments, and businesses, generally in 15 or 30 minute intervals.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is designed to relieve aches in back, neck, hips, legs and weight bearing joints. Postpartum massage helps restore the body to pre-pregnancy conditions and to comfort and nurture the new Mom.

Reflexology (only offered in our Boonsboro Location)

Reflexology is a natural healing art, based on the principle that there are reflex centers in the feet and hands which affect every part of the body. By stimulating and applying pressure to the feet or hands, circulation is increased and specific bodily and muscular functions are improved. '

Reiki (only offered in our Frederick location)

This is a holistic healing technique which targets the client’s worries and tensions. Reiki treatments involve a balance of energy transferred from their practitioner to the client. It can be used to facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well being. The body's energies are balanced through hands-on healing, to loosen blocked energy and to promote deep relaxation creating a pervasive equilibrium and harmony.

Swedish Massage

Designed to improve circulation, relieve muscle tension, and reduce stress, this treatment employs the gentle but firm manipulation of pressure points and muscles. Massage incorporating full body or specific muscle groups may be chosen by the client or recommended by the practitioner. Muscles are kneaded, stroked, stretched, and soothed to a state of pure relaxation.pty heading
