Ryan is passionate about helping patients resolve their health challenges naturally, empowering them not only to feel better themselves, but to become a positive force in the lives of those around them.

As CEO and Co-Founder of Holistic Health Associates, Ryan has helped build a truly integrative health center in downtown Frederick, bringing together acupuncture, nutritional supplementation, massage therapy, functional nutrition and red light therapy to support whole-person wellness.

In addition to his clinical work, Ryan has served as Co-Professor of Advanced Practice Management for the PhD program at Maryland University of Integrative Health and previously served as President of the Board of Directors for the Dr. Leon Hammer Legacy Foundation.

Ryan earned his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Maryland before studying Traditional Chinese Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Santa Fe, New Mexico. There, he received a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and completed an apprenticeship in acupuncture and herbology.

Committed to lifelong learning and clinical experience, Ryan pursued extensive advanced training. He completed a two-year integration program with Lonny Jarrett, a three-year classical Chinese Medicine study with Jeffrey Yuen, and an in-depth training in contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis with Dr. Leon Hammer. He is one of only ten certified teachers in the country in contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis.

Ryan began practicing in December 2003 and co-founded Holistic Health Associates in June 2005. For more than two decades, he has remained dedicated to helping patients experience meaningful, lasting transformation.

Outside of the clinic, Ryan enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, exercising, meditating and watching a great movie.

Amber is a 2006 graduate of Towson University and a 2012 graduate of McDaniel College where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications and her Master’s degree in guidance counseling. Amber first came to HHA in 2006 as a summer job, home from college. After undergrad, she worked for Verizon Wireless for four years. This is where she learned that the corporate business world was not for her and what she really wanted to do was make a difference in people’s lives. This is how she chose to study counseling in graduate school.

Since coming back to HHA she has progressed from front desk associate to Office Manager and loves being a part of the HHA family. She is passionate about helping others and loves that her job allows her to work closely with a wide range of people every day. Since coming back to HHA in the fall of 2012, Amber has become much more interested in the mind/body, clean eating, and learning how to live a healthier lifestyle. She enjoys cooking, relaxing with yoga, reading, and spending time with her family and friends, and her dog Leo.

Lauren has always lived in Maryland and moved to Frederick in 2008 with her husband and two children. New to the area, she fell in love with Frederick's charming appeal and beautiful landscape with its proximity to the Blue Ridge Mountains. She has maintained a passion for caring deeply for the wellbeing of others throughout her life. Through her motherhood journey, she discovered that a more holistic approach to life better suited her lifestyle and aligned with her beliefs.

Lauren has a background in community organization as well as medical billing and practices. She is a certified yoga instructor and understands the deep importance of maintaining a healthy connection between the mind and body.

Lauren is very excited to join all the wonderful minds at HHA and looks forward to a bright future of company growth and development. In her free time, Lauren enjoys laughing with her family, reading, cooking and anything involving animals or the outdoors.

Originally from Potomac, Maryland, Stacey relocated to Frederick in 2007, where she built both her career and deep community roots.  In 2024, she and her family embraced a new chapter and moved to West Virginia, though she continues to remain as the Marketing & Sales Director at Holistic Health Associates.

Stacey joined HHA in October 2018, bringing with her more than fifteen years of experience in the insurance industry. Her background spans relationship management, licensing, operations, marketing and sales, giving her a well-rounded foundation in both strategy and service. Her ability to connect with people, think creatively and execute with intention made her transition into holistic healthcare a seamless and meaningful fit.

What began as a marketing role quickly evolved into a broader leadership position. As Marketing and Sales Director, Stacey focuses on strengthening patient relationships, supporting team connection and development, refining internal marketing & sales systems, and ensuring that every patient touchpoint reflects the heart and mission of the practice. Her role allows her to connect with both patients and staff in a more intentional, focused way, aligning vision, culture and growth. 

Although she entered the holistic health space with limited prior knowledge, Stacy brought a strong curiosity and desire to learn. Over time, she has developed a deep appreciation for integrative care and the powerful impact it can have on individuals and families.

Outside of work, Stacey enjoys spending time with her husband and family, camping at their lakeside campsite, traveling and embracing spontaneous mini adventures. Her daughter, now a college graduate and teacher, continues to make her proud. At home in West Virginia, Stacey and her husband enjoy walking their two dogs, Willow and Rippeon, and spending quiet evenings together, often with a great movie.

Stacey is passionate about creating a meaningful experience through thoughtful marketing, strong team culture, and ensuring every patient feels welcomed, understood and supported from their very first interaction.

Natasha Baihly, M.Ac., studied acupuncture after experiencing personally a profound healing from Chinese medicine. In 1990, while studying abroad in France, she developed a skin disorder that would not go away. After trying several pharmaceuticals and therapies with no change in her condition, Natasha's mother eventually took her to see a doctor of Oriental medicine. Natasha was impressed with the amount of time the practitioner spent gathering information about her symptoms and body functions, as well as the conscious effort put into customizing a treatment. She experienced a full recovery from her skin condition, and this initial experience with holistic healthcare planted the seeds for future interest in acupuncture.

With that experience tucked away in the back of her mind, several years later Natasha traveled to the Peruvian Amazon, where she met an acupuncturist who became a mentor, and where she was introduced to the herbal and spiritual medicine of the indigenous people. Under the care of this acupuncturist, she witnessed people feeling better and taking more control of their health. This convinced her to return and complete a Master's Degree in acupuncture through the Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, MD.

Natasha spends her time outside of the office kayaking, making her way around the Appalachian Mountains, and reading. She enjoys languages and travel. Combining the science and art inherent in Chinese medicine, her particular passion is to open doors for patients to realize the part they play in their own healing process.

Matthew Beeman L.Ac. is a native of Western Maryland. He obtained his Masters of Science and Oriental Medicine Degree (MSOM) from East West College of Natural Medicine in Sarasota, Florida.

Matthew also holds a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science, giving him an in-depth knowledge to pair with a strong passion to navigate the rehabilitation of musculoskeletal issues. Matthew takes a multi faceted approach to pain management, As well as treating psycho-emotional disorders such as stress and anxiety, digestive disorders, headaches, gynecological issues, and much more.

Each patient presents unique challenges, therefore, Matthew’s holistic approach for each circumstance will incorporate the best of Western Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. 

Matthew is also certified in Acupuncture Point Injection Therapy, and will be offering these services in conjunction with his acupuncture treatments.

In his free time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and two bulldogs, traveling, playing soccer, and watching all sports.

David graduated from Dragon Rises College with a Bachelor's in Health Sciences and a Master's in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Contemporary Oriental Medicine.  He holds undergraduate degrees in Journalism and Music Performance from the University of Florida.  David is a nationally board-certified practitioner of acupuncture and herbal medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed by the Maryland Board of Acupuncture and the Florida Board of Acupuncture.  

David’s journey to pursue a career in East Asian medicine is a personal one that bears a passion for the profession. Nearly 20 years ago, as a cancer patient, acupuncture was instrumental in easing the side effects of treatments and guided him through the maze of modern medicine. David is dedicated to combining this experience with the skills obtained in his studies to give all patients the relief that he received. 

This new path led to a hospital-based integrative practice where he was a part of an integrative team approach to patient wellness. David collaborated with doctors and specialists, utilizing the resources of an academic university hospital for the betterment of his patients. In this role, David treated a diverse population and a broad spectrum of health conditions. He also provided care for cancer patients during chemotherapy infusions at the UF Health Davis Cancer Pavilion. 

In concert with his work in an integrative hospital setting, David led a private practice, served as a clinical educator at Dragon Rises College, and continued his studies in an ongoing mentorship. In his role as a clinical educator, David found it rewarding assisting students in discovering the “ah-ha” moments and how East Asian medicine can heal the most complicated diseases. 

David’s advocacy for integrative holistic medicine has brought him before interest and support groups, medical students, and practitioners, promoting the benefits of acupuncture and East Asian medicine.

David is new to the Frederick area and is looking forward to enjoying his newfound home.  He is joined by his partner Kasey, daughter Ava and son Ethan. 

Rebecca Dimmerling, DAc. is a licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner with a deep-rooted background in both Western and Eastern medicine.  Her path into healthcare began early, working as an Emergency Medical Technician in high school, and continued through her service as a medic and nurse in the United States military.  It was during her military service that she was first introduced to battlefield acupuncture-an experience that profoundly shaped her understanding of healing and inspired her to pursue a career in integrative medicine.  

Rebecca earned both her Master's and Doctorate degrees in Acupuncture, with a specialization in Chinese herbal medicine, from Maryland University of Integrative Health.  Alongside her clinical work, she has remained committed to education and research, serving as an adjunct faculty in the bioscience department at MUIH and working as a research analyst and subject matter expert with the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence.  

As a veteran herself, Rebecca is especially passionate about serving the military community.  For more than two years, she has provided acupuncture care to veterans and their families through the nonprofit Platoon 22 in Frederick, Maryland.  She currently continues to work by offering acupuncture services during Therapeutic Thursdays, creating a consistent, accessible space for healing and support within the veteran community.

At Holistic Health Associates, Rebecca integrates a strong foundation in Western medical sciences with the time-honored principles of Eastern medicine.  This balanced, whole-person approach allows her to tailor treatments to each individual's unique needs, addressing not only symptoms but the underlying patterns affecting health and well-being.  Her goal is to help patients find relief, restore balance, and reconnect with their vitality.

Rebecca considers it a privilege to walk alongside her patient's wellness journeys and remains deeply committed to helping others thrive through the art and science of acupuncture.

Originally from Northwestern PA, Alex moved to Maryland in 2017 after graduating from Mercyhurst University's Physical Therapy Assistant program.  She spent the next 6 years working as a PTA predominantly with the geriatric population.   Over those 6 years, she worked with hundreds of patients with a wide variety of chronic and acute illnesses and began pursuing knowledge in preventing illness instead of just managing it.  

Using the knowledge from her PTA degree, she completed the Massage Therapy program at the American Massage and Bodywork Institute in Vienna, VA in 2023.  With her background, Alex gravitated towards a more treatment-based approach to massage while still providing a relaxing session.

When she's not at work, Alex is passionate about travel and family and enjoys spending her evenings with her husband and their parakeet, Dewey.

Liz is a Registered Massage Practitioner and a lifelong Frederick native with a passion for wellness and community, grounded in empathy and a belief that everyone deserves to feel their best - body and mind.  With a background in athletics and over 20 years in hospitality, Liz brings a strong service ethic and intuitive understanding of the human body to her massage practice.

As a lifelong athlete who enjoys playing 35+ co-ed soccer year-round, Liz knows firsthand the importance of movement, recovery and balance.  Her approach to massage is personalized and thoughtful, focusing on each patient's specific needs - whether it's pain relief, injury prevention, or simple relaxation.  She is committed to expanding her skills and knowledge through continued education to help better serve her patients.  

Outside the treatment room, she is a proud mom of a teenage boy, and enjoys all that is Sci-Fi and Doctor Who with her loving husband, while they dote on their 2 fluffy dogs and 2 big cats.  Family is everything to Liz and she is excited to join HHA's family!

Liz's mission is simple: to help people feel their best, move better, and live more comfortably.  She believes in the power of human connection, attentive care, and the healing potential of touch.

Cindy has a BA degree in English and an AA degree in Digital Media Design, and her career path has included travel and tourism, the arts, marketing, community outreach, education, and graphic design. She has always had a strong interest in wellness, nutrition, and self-care, and has practiced yoga since her early 20s. A longtime HHA client, Cindy feels very fortunate that her journey has led her to her current role at the Boonsboro office, where she joined the team as an Office Manager in June 2022. She is thrilled to work alongside such kind, respectful, and like-minded people, sharing a passion for helping others to live their best lives every day.

Cindy has loved living in Maryland since moving here in 1999 and still proudly calls this special place home. In her spare time, she enjoys weaving, calligraphy, gardening, hiking, kayaking, reading, and especially travel, both near and far. Most weekends, you can find her happily exploring the nooks and crannies of various counties in Maryland. She especially enjoys the natural areas on the Eastern Shore. Cindy is also a very proud mom of two –and is happy to have instilled the love of travel and adventure in both her adult daughter and son!
